I've recently trialled the CGM and found with my busy schedule with teaching and umpiring that it made my life so much easier

50 years of needles, finger pricks, blood glucose monitoring, specialist appointments, podiatrist sessions, eye screenings, dietitians, diabetes lifestyle consultations, hypos , infections, flu jabs, blood tests the list goes on

Finger pricking was ok, but not very discrete, and I had to carefully pick when I tested, as it wasn’t easy to do so if I was teaching or exercising.

I have come to realize that without a closed loop system of an insulin pump and continuous CGM, I will only get worse until my body cannot continue.

Being able to scan the sensor whenever and wherever I am makes life less stressful and decisions as to insulin requirements a lot easier.

I prick my fingers 5 times a day some times more I have used up to 20 thousand strips just for my blood sugars, I haven’t used the CGM yet but I know it will make my life easier
