Diabetes NZ new charity partner for My Identity
We are excited to announce that My Identity have teamed up with Diabetes NZ to create custom pieces of medical ID jewellery and raise funds.
My Identity was born after mum, Hayley McDonald, struggled to find stylish medical ID jewellery here in New Zealand for her daughter Payton, who has type 1 diabetes and herself, Hayley has an allergy to certain medications. Hayley a web designer by trade, and had done online retail in the past, so she thought would give it a go.
Hayley observed that there are many people in New Zealand who need to wear a medical ID for a range of health conditions. But who says these have to be ugly? Why can’t they be cool, funky, and fashionable instead? She say’s ‘this is a feel-good business venture for me. I want everybody who has to wear a medical ID to be proud and happy to put it on every day’.
We couldn’t agree more with Hayley and are delighted My Identity have teamed up with us to create custom pieces of medical ID jewellery and raise funds.
For the first design Hayley, invited Ruby McGill – Director of Youth Diabetes NZ, to help in the design process. Hayley and Ruby have created The Ruby and The Ruby Tuesday, which are available in a limited number.
My Identity will donate all the profits from the sale of The Ruby and The Ruby Tuesday to support Diabetes NZ’s work.
