Control-IQ Software Version 7.7 Now Available with Dexcom G7 Integration

Dexcom has just announced the release of software version 7.7.0.1 for the t:slim X2TM insulin pump with Control-IQ Technology, enabling seamless integration with the Dexcom G7 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system.

This update brings several enhancements, including:

Updated Pump Sounds

Seamless Activity Transition

Updated Auto-Off Alarm Default

How to Upgrade Patients using Basal-IQ to the latest Control-IQ 7.7.0.1

If your patient is currently using Basal-IQ, they will need to complete the required training below to update the software on their t:slim X2 insulin pump.
If your patient is already using Control-IQ, they will be sent instructions in the next few days to update their pump to the latest software.

The emailed update instructions will also include a form for your patients to upgrade their online subscription from Dexcom G6 to Dexcom G7 after they have completed the update.

How to Upgrade Patients to Control-IQ

Consult your patient to determine if Control-IQ is suitable

Speak to your patient if Control-IQ is suitable. Complete the below form to give your authority.

Your patient will need to complete the training module, which can be accessed via the link below

This will take up to one hour but they can pause and resume at any time. Upon finishing, your patient will receive a certificate. This will also be sent directly to NZMS.

Please note: Advise patients to register for the training platform in the name of the pump user to prevent delays in confirming completion

Your patient will receive a personal update ID

After your patient has completed the online module and we have confirmed receipt of the Software update form. They will be emailed an update ID and instructions on how to update the t:slim X2 insulin pump.
Please note: only patients who are new to Control-IQ technology need to complete the online training and have the Control-IQ order form filled out by their healthcare professional. If they require assistance they can contact the team at tandem@nzms.co.nz or call our technical support line.

Please allow up to 2 weeks for your patient to receive their update instructions after submitting all required documentation.

Your patient will need to perform the software update on their personal computer

Please note during the update to v7.7.0.1 the Update ID will need to be entered at two points in the update process. The Control-IQ technology update is only available to insulin pumps within the 4-year manufacturer warranty. This step must be completed prior to the pump warranty expiry date. Update instructions are only valid for 6 months and may need to be refreshed by contacting tandem@nzms.co.nz if not used in time.
