DIABETES NEW ZEALAND

Christelle : It's been life changing and has given me freedom

I was diagnosed at the age of 9, I'm now 44. I'm a mom of a child with type 1 diabetes,  I'm a teacher and I’m a NZC and club cricket umpire.

I've recently trialled the CGM and found with my busy schedule with teaching and umpiring that it made my life so much easier. I didn't have to finger prick was able to see my blood sugar before going out to umpire,  have alerts to tell me whether I'm going high or low.

This has been life changing and has given me freedom and security,  but I'm unable to afford this, which means I'm back to finger pricks and not knowing what my blood sugar levels are unless I test.

This technology will mean better health and well-being for those living with diabetes.
